Winter

The railway is now closed for it's winter break.  Depending on the  weather (as usual) we will open on Sundays during February & March.  Details will be posted on this site nearer the time.  The next firm date for opening will be the February Half Term when we will open every day 11th - 19th inclusive, again dependant on the weather.

Fares

You be pleased to know that for the whole of 2012 the fares will remain at their current levels.

Super Savers

The numbers sold have increased yet again and are a useful way of saving those precious pounds.  Note that there is no expiry date and are equally valid during next summer or on any days we might open over the winter.

Track Additions

As some of you may have spotted, a new point was inserted into the main circuit just before the station level crossing.  This connects to the remains of the original track disconnected when we extended into the park enhancements.  This in future will be known as the bottom loop, the track over the hill that we currently use being known as the top loop.  This bottom loop now has the plain line part of track connected and it just remains for us to purchase another point at the western end of the loop to complete.  This will provide us with two options of travel using either the top or bottom loops, particularly useful in wet weather as we will be able to use the bottom loop only thus saving having to sand the top loop to get adhesion. 

We hope to complete this in the early summer giving more scope on busy event days.   This is the first stage in laying two chords at each end of the two loops which will enable us to provide  a better and more intersting ride.  Details will follow later.
